Subtask 4: Network Analysis of Grid Connection for Central Stations

Static and dynamic network analysis will be performed in this subtask. Input from WP1 regarding market studies about number of EV’s in the electrical grid and their duration of being plugged-in will be required for the dynamic calculations. It will develop a proposal to balance the peak loads and overproduction of electrical energy periods by buffering energy for short and mid term for the Danish electrical grid.

In addition, it analyses probable distribution scenarios of required numbers of central stations and their scope of services (fast-charging, battery-swapping or both).

The studies will also address the utilization of renewable energy relative to the percentage of the total energy production. It should also be investigated if transformation will be required to transport energy over long distances or if it can be used locally within the same distribution grid.

Utilization of charging stations as significant MW (Megawatt) resources for the use as energy reserve, reactive power compensation, active power, and power quality or frequency stabilization have to be evaluated.
