Subtask 3: Technical Concept of Central Battery-Swapping Stations

In addition to subtask 2 of this work package the tests will be performed equally and address the charging of the batteries by the ‘battery-swapping concept’, e.g. charging up to 80-100% of rated battery capacity in 1-5 hours, depending on the actual swapping demand. Based on the most appropriate design which has been developed in subtask 1 of WP4, this subtask will develop a simulation of a battery-swapping station for EV’s as part of the Project.

Maximum capacities (technical (MW) and dimensional (civil works)), grid interfaces (e.g. switching/disconnecting devices), communication technologies (wired, wireless such as Bluetooth or GSM technology) as well as load current physics (DC and/or AC) have to be evaluated in this analysis in addition to the design stage in subtask 1 of WP4.

Objectives and tests as well as deliverable are similar to the subtask 2 of this work package.

No prototype development will occur in this or any other subtask within this work package due to the budget limitations and lack of existing cars with required preconditions.
