WP 1 - EV Technology

7. August 2009  by Anders Holm Foosnæs - the Danish Energy Assocation

Work package 1 is led by the Danish Energy Association.

1.1 State of the art study

Work package 1.1 is a comprehensive study of state-of-the art EV-technology and scenarios for expected development. It is important for the consortium to know the abilities of the expected EVs and their batteries. This knowledge will especially be input for distribution and transmission grid studies in work package 2.

1.2 Interaction with auto industry

The objective is to obtain a clear picture of the automotive industry and the interaction between this industry and the energy industry and convey this picture to all project partners to enable them to find the optimal solutions within the constraints and opportunities presented by the automotive industry.

1.3 Driving patterns

In order to be able to assess the design of the EV charging infrastructure, it is necessary to map the driving and parking patterns of the EVs. Work package 1.3 will provide transport data to enable these studies in work package 2.

1.4 International working groups

This work package will pursue participation in international work groups.

1.5 Battery modelling

The objective is to gain knowledge via models and simulations about overall performance of the batteries as function of different charging/discharging patterns and different battery types for future EV’s.

1.6 Economic analyses

The objective of this subtask is to evaluate cost and benefits for society including private consumers.
